Wood and Wood Effect

Wood

Wood kitchen fronts for contemporary kitchens are generally constructed from particle board panels finished with a sheet of wood veneer protected by a suitable paint finish. A vast variety of woods offers many very different styles and the ability to create kitchen environments that may be Nordic, elegant, warm and traditional, original and sophisticated, so reflecting trends and personal tastes.

Wood Kitchens with Special Treatments

Already sophisticated wood kitchens become even more elegant thanks to the different treatments available today. Examples include:

  • lacquered finishes that bring a lasting shine to cabinet fronts
  • open-pore paint finishes that further exalt wood veining
  • thermo-treatment, an ecological way to create drier and more durable finishes and more natural looking darker colours; this process involves baking wood finishes at a temperature between 180 and 230°C while they are protected with water vapour

Wood Effect – Melamine

Melamine is a wood particle board panel finished on two sides in decorative paper, soaked in melamine resins, from which it takes its name. During this process, referred to as “ennobling” and which serves to fix the two sheets in a press, it assumes different aesthetic and tactile characteristics. Melamine is both economical and attractive because it is easy and fast to work with, providing “finished” surfaces that require no additional painting. The finishes are increasingly more realistic, durable and resistant to scratching and solvents, which makes them ideal for everyday use in the kitchen.

Matt and Gloss Lacquer/Matt and Gloss Glass/Fenix/Melamine Single Colour

Lacquer

Lacquer is medium density fibreboard panel entirely finished with a polyester paint and a polyurethane top coat that creates a total and homogenous surface.

Types of lacquer

Glossy Lacquer: polished to reflect light like a mirror and brighten any space
Matt Lacquer: the elegance of this non-glossy colour finish is timeless and often used to animate kitchens
Super Matt Lacquer: a particularly opaque paint finish with a surface layer that creates a velvet touch

Glass

Glass kitchen fronts are always fixed to a frame, either exposed of concealed. We offer versions in exposed perimeter frames of aluminium or fixed to concealed aluminium frames. Glass is available in wired or transparent versions in various colours, from acid-etched to decorated, and always tempered. The same glass panes are also commonly used to create cabinetry shelving.

Fenix NTM

Fenix NTM® is an innovative material obtained using nanotechnologies. Its truly unique characteristic is its extremely matt surface, which reflects very small quantities of light. It is silky to the touch and allows for the repair of micro-scratches.

Melamine

Melamine is a wood particle board panel finished on two sides in decorative paper, soaked in melamine resins, from which it takes its name. During this process, referred to as “ennobling” and which serves to fix the two sheets in a press, it assumes different aesthetic and tactile characteristics.

Metal/Cement/Stone/Ceramic

Metallic Lacquer

This surface lacquer, containing particles of real metals, is hand scratched and successively protected by a transparent top coat to obtain a metallic look.

Fenix NTA

Fenix NTA® is the evolution of Fenix. It maintains all of the characteristics of the original material, beginning with its resistance to scratches, anti-fingerprint and soft touch, that is now applied to metal surfaces.

Peltrox® – Steel

Peltrox® is a material with an innovative appearance. It is a classical AISI 304 stainless steel, certified for use in the food industry, with a surface treatment inspired by pewter, a traditional metal with a used look, though too soft to be used for furniture. Puccini Kitchens has Peltrox® fronts with an internal finish in anodized aluminium and a plywood core.

Stainless Steel

Professional-look stainless steel kitchen fronts are made from a layer of steel with welded and finished corners that create a clean and linear style, applied to a raw panel. The inner face of the fronts is generally finished in another, more affordable material. Our AISI 304 steel fronts are finished in a sheet of anodized aluminium, with a central expanded polymer. The steel surface is also treated with nanotechnologies that help protect against stains, for example oil, grease and limescale.

Cement and Stone – Stratificato HPL

HPL stands for “high pressure laminate”. Unlike other laminates, it does not have a wood fibre base, but is made from a unique body of cellulose fibre layers soaked in phenolic resins. It is then finished in one or more external layers of cellulose fibres with an aesthetic function, soaked in thermo hardening resins. Panels are then compacted under high pressure. The result is a highly resistant product.

Stratificato HPL kitchen fronts offer a vast choice of colours and aesthetic finishes that simulate marble, stone and cement. They are all easy to clean and very hygienic.

Ceramic (GRES)

Gres, or porcelain stoneware, is a composite material made from natural raw materials (carefully selected and refined clays and minerals) worked to obtain a uniform powder. This mixture is then laid flat, compacted, decorated and baked at 1200°C. The result is an indivisible and extremely resistant material that takes the form of large format ceramic tiles (1580×3200 mm), between 3 and 12 mm thick.

Gres kitchen fronts are made from a surface layer of stoneware applied to a support. We use 4 mm panels mounted on an extruded aluminium frame. Solid and lightweight, this material is highly resistant to corrosion, and has guaranteed durability. It is also ecological and 100% recyclable. The aluminium parts are visible only when the doors are open.
